Workplace Safety Australia is pleased to welcome Steven Brown with his great wealth of experience to our consultant group. Steve starts 2004 as one of our in house legal counsel to advise and assist our clients in matters of OHS, Employment Law and Trade Practices legislation. Admitted to practice as a Solicitor in 1983 Steve has practised in the commercial arena of the law and advised both local corporations as well as multi nationals on a broad range of issues as can be seen from his C.V. below.
As well as being admitted to practice in all States of Australia, the Federal Court and The High Court of Australia. Steve is also admitted to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister of the High Court of New Zealand and is an Associate Member of the American Bar Association. Steve has since 1989 lectured in the Diploma Course for the Australian Institute of Company Directors and in both Masters and Doctoral Programs in Australian Universities and is currently lecturing in the Master of Commercial Law program at Macquarie University, NSW in the field of Trade Practices. Steve is also an acknowledged expert in the field of International Trademarks and the multi jurisdictional registration of same.
Steve has had a long association with the principals of Workplace Safety Australia and Workplace Safety Solutions Australia and we now look forward to being able to utilise his wealth of experience and expertise to not only our own advantage but more specifically to the benefit of our broad client base that extends from small business to multi national corporations. General capability and experience
Admitted as a solicitor in 1983, Steven is highly experienced in all aspects of commercial
law, with an intimate knowledge of the Corporations Law and the Australian
Stock Exchange business and listing rules, being involved in corporate
takeovers, company floats, the preparation of prospectuses, employee share
schemes and advising on directors' duties.
Steven's experience also extends to securities law, trade practices (especially as it
affects advertising and marketing), franchising law, joint ventures and the
provision of general commercial advice.
Steven lectures in Trade Practices Law for the Master of Commercial Law Course
conducted by Macquarie University.
Steven has lectured for the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has published a
number of articles on commercial subjects and lectured in the Master and
Doctorate courses at UTS in corporations, finance and securities law.
